What culture are you a part of and do they have high expectations for appearance? Skincare is such a HUGE part of Korean culture so prioritizing my skincare has been a big lesson I've been learning since I was a child watching my mom do her "under makeup" routine (even when it was super tough when my skin was struggling with aggressive acne). Let me know if you relate. :)

@wi-im

1 -skin changes
2-stick to your routine
3-learn about ingredients what would work best for you
4-protect your hands
5-food sleep water
6-skin type changes
7-expect and accept allergies
8-double cleansing and massage
9-skin texture is normal
10-find your SPF to wear it daily
11-try skincare gradually not many at once
12-be gentle
13-love your skin and its changes

One thing I learnt in my 30s is that skincare routines tend to stick if they’re more enjoyable or fun e.g. an oil cleanser that smells nice or a body lotion that’s moisturising without feeling greasy. It doesn’t always have to be the most expensive, but if it shows results and/or is fun to use, I’m likely to stick to it and get better results ❤

@candidlyvivian

what an amazing video Jen + merry Xmas! I have followed you since my teen years when you were posting monolid tutorials on youtube - I feel like I have grown up with you.
you look so good for 39.

@ang4390

Omg I missed your videos!!! I used to follow you back in the day! I’m glad to see you’re still making videos!

Hi Jen! Been following you since day one. Always glad to see a new upload. Merry Christmas to you. Much love from Germany, xx

@hanahaleyhoney

I’m 33 and have been looking for some skincare guidance, thanks for the tips on oil cleanser and reapplying sunscreen :)

@Gamyeon

Thank you for all those lessons. Having a routine is really my biggest struggle because the non-instant gratification makes my ADHD brain not as inclined to follow through the day after. I’ve already simplified the products I use because of that, but it’s difficult (having healthy life habits too). One thing I’ve noticed too is that beyond time, my skin changes through the seasons and depending where I am. So my environment also plays a lot on how nice my skin feels. Thank you a lot for the tip to step back from the mirror. I feel it could help me not pick at my face (I struggle with dermatillomania).

@maia-roll

Happy new year Jen! Loved all of these tips. Thanks for sharing! ❤

I finally find the sunscreen that works for me in my early 30s after trying and giving up and trying again. I'm really oily and my workplace is so humid it's difficult to find something that works

@WaterDancerGirl

The way I actually had to pause and rewind when you said 39

@jeeezy4307

If you’re already wearing makeup how do you suggest we reapply sunscreen? Powder sunscreen?

@Maderlololohio

Thank you this is such essential info ❤❤❤
