I used to work for Dunbar years ago and every couple days we would do a BEP run to the DC facility and pick up massive pallets of cash. It always impressed me the amount of money that we carried back and for people that think that money doesn’t weigh a lot you should think again when it comes stacked in pallets in an armored truck.

One time at my old job, while closing out a register, I found a counterfeit $100 bill. The bill felt real, but looked off. Someone took a $10 bill, some how bleached the ink off, and reprinted it as a $100 bill. It still had Alexander Hamilton’s face on it, and the security band still imprinted in the bill

The mint in Dallas/fortworth Tx lets you tour the facility for free and has a museum. It was neat watching it all and omg the smell is horrible from the ink. We went when the new blue 100 bills were being made before they got dispersed.

Also I believe the easiest money to counterfeit, that’s why, here in Australia we pioneered polymer notes with a range of security features which are very hard to copy.

Idk why, but I’d love to own some of those coin blanks. They’re just so satisfying to look at 😂 I can’t explain it. Some form of ASMR I guess? If I had the money to spare, I’d also love to own a sheet of each bill. I’ve been told you can in fact buy them in sheets like that, uncut. It would make for really cool artwork to frame or something. But I’m poor, so yeah.
