Never hit that 'like' button so fast. X are the greatest to ever do it.
X is one of the best bands ever. Long live X.
Met them in ‘85 outside a Woolworths in Kansas….Exene signed my shirt I was wearing, and Texacala Jones was giggling behind her….thanks X for making 45 years of my life so much better!
Just like Exene talks about being in awe of Lucinda, I remember playing pinball next to Exene at First Ave. in Minneapolis many years ago and I was in awe. Speechless, she has such a presence I was afraid to talk to her…
Lucinda is so special. Her voice reaches your soul.
love them. legends
Under the Big Black Sun..whenever I hear those songs..heck..just hold that album in my hands ..it’s 1982 again..my friends and family all around me..truly blessed and grateful.
X, Two of the coolest people ever ❤
X changed my life. No joke.
John, Exene, Billy, and DJ are a deep, deep well.
Can't remember when I enjoyed a What's In My Bag this much in a long, long time, Thanks, X!
Best what’s in my bag. Long Live X!
The reason I love these two is they know music history while keeping an ear to the fresh and now. Going to pick up a few of these at Amoeba of course!
I'm a huge fan of these two.
One of my favorite music stories: My buddy Steve owned a club in the Broad Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis in the late 1970s-early 1980s. All the emerging punk and new wave bands played there, including X. Their 1980 gig at the venue fell on the last Saturday of May, the day before the Indianapolis 500. There was not a hotel room available for 25 miles in any direction. John, Exene, DJ, and Billy had no idea that was the case and did not book rooms in advance. They called Steve frantically at 3 AM Saturday morning, and he invited them to stay at his apartment. Exene got the couch, the guys slept on the floor--and they still just destroyed onstage that night.
Wow Exene and John!!
OMG finally my favorite band on What's In My Bag! And what a fantastic selection-- thank you for some music education, X! And thank you Amoeba for having X!
Saw John do an acoustic set opening for Lucinda Williams years ago at the Stern Grove Festival in San Francisco. She mentioned between songs how honored she was to share the same stage with him. They were both great.
Thank you Exene and John for a soundtrack to go along with my befuddled life ...finally found my resting place out here in Joshua Tree ...Thank you for coming to town the last two years to Pappy and Harriets ...Hope to see you again soon
