@DwightAbner

Rare breed is one of my very favorite pores. I agree with you 100%.

@martinprice6302

Absolutely love the Bardstown Origin Wheat bottle! Agree wholeheartedly.

@noworldforeric

If you can get them for MSRP, I think Weller SR and Eagle Rare should be on this list. Eagle Rare is my favorite sipping whiskey and if you get it for MSRP it is a banger. Weller is really good too and a great mixer if you get the 750 for around 27-30$, just like getting a bottle of BT. I know that's taterish of me but they really are great bottles.

@Glock2201

I am unable to find a lot of these on the shelves. I have been able to score some BT and actually just got a couple of store picks online and I agree that it is a great value. I find it better during warmer weather. Not sure if I am crazy and that is just my imagination or if there is something in the recipe that makes it that way. The RR 10 was scarce around here until the last 6 months or so and that is great value as well. I grabbed all 3 of the new FRSiB releases online as well because I can see it being a while before I see them on the shelves. I am very glad FR kept these at the same price as the one we have been seeing on the shelves for a while and I am not sure if I would have got them if that was not the case. WTRB is always on the shelf around here but not a huge fan of it and find 1920 and JDSiBBP to be worth the extra money. I know that the RR10 is a lower proof but I would still opt for that over the RB.

@grndhog66

I wish we could get Coopers' Craft out here in CA.

@macville82

Rare breed is $55+ in most places across the country. While i like it, the JDSBBP for $60-65 is just better tasting. The Bardstown is fantastic. I tell people if they want to know what Weller 107 tastes like, is very very similar and in my bind beat 107

@robertclewell7305

Y'all are my favorite Bourbon channel. I really enjoy all the content. It is very informative. Thanks for all you do

@brineshrimp8603

Bardstown Wheated Rare Breed Knob Creek 9 RR 10-some of my favs

@MetaPrometheus

Very Old Barton - I'm not even sure that I've seen that in my area.

Old Grand-Dad - I can wholeheartedly endorse Old Grand-Dad (80 proof, Bonded and 114)! Great value bottles and you can improve the 80 proof by mixing 2:1 with the Bonded, get back to 86 proof like it was before the change in 2013. I always pick up a lot of orange rind/zest in OGD.

Buffalo Trace - Meh, it's alright. For a time this was difficult to find but as of lately it only takes me checking a couple stores to get a bottle now. I don't even buy them unless they are under $30, no excuse for regular BT being over $30 for a 750ml.

Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 proof - The rumor was that CC 100 will become Kentucky exclusive (and possibly Ohio) but can't confirm yet. A lot of people are worried it will be discontinued now that BF sold off their last remaining cooperage in Louisville. I can however state that CC 100 is definitely the spiritual successor to the former Brown-Forman black cap Early Times Bonded. Very similar but the CC 100 has more oak influence from the oak shavings left in the barrel after they groove them. Excellent value at $35 or so.

Russell's 10 year - I like this just fine but I prefer the Russell's single barrel (the shelfer, not a store pick). The 10 year is about $40 in my area and the single barrel is about $54. I don't chase the laser codes, not worth it. Just drink the dang bourbon people! No matter what laser code is on the bottle!

Four Roses new single barrels at 100 proof - These have only been available in raffles in my area so far. Haven't seen enough of them to flood the shelves yet. I'd really like to try some of these because we simply don't get Four Roses barrel picks in my area.

Rare Breed - It's alright. I prefer the Russell's single barrel. However WT is supposedly going to be bringing the non-chill filtered version stateside instead of just as a duty free export. That's what I like about the Russell's single barrel, 110 proof and NCF/unfiltered. I'll have to compare them in the future.

Bardstown Origin Wheated - I'd have to search for this one. I don't recall seeing it in my area. I struggle with wheated bourbons, haven't really found one I truly like so far. I'll have to check this one out.

Some other value bottles that come to mind: Early Times Bonded around $23 (yes the blue top Sazerac version!), Knob Creek 12 year around $70, Knob Creek single barrels 120 proof around $60 (mops the floor with most Booker's releases at half the price!), Old Forester 100 proof around $20 for a 750ml and WT 101 around $30 (I'm looking forward to the return of the 8 year age statement for the 101!).

@jells40

Great list! New Riff...Wilderness Trail & Jack Bonded could also be included.

@EricTaylor-w8p

I agree, the Bardstown High Wheated is fantastic and my go to next Rare Breed. Cheers !

@blakestah

Y'all ought to honorable mention Bowman Bros when you include Buffalo Trace, because where I live, Bowman Bros sits on the shelf at $35-40, while Buffalo Trace only shows up periodically can sells out within 2 weeks at the same price. The tastes of those two are VERY similar. Bowman Bros is some combination of BT Mashbill 1 and 2, and aged in Virginia.

@robertclewell7305

Coopers Craft is amazing and highly underrated. It sells for $36 in NC

@timsprunger1398

1792 Full Proof would be on my list.

@markbrooks6788

Haven't seen the 4R in Michigan yet. Hoping it arrives as I'm a fan of the Rose!

@ksamples149

I love rare breed. The rare breed rye is also amazing

@DaveNorton-yi5ix

While I can't argue too much with any of these, I'd put Jack Daniel's Single Barrel on this list. I've never had a bad one.

@umami0247

Great list!!🥃🥃🥃

@MrRockingRilo

With the exception of the Bardstown wheater this video would have been applicable 5 years ago - maybe 10. I guess that's a good thing, but it seems there are some really good new value brands out there. Green River, Wilderness Trail, New Riff, Copper and Cask, etc...These are not bargain basement brands, but certainly on par cost-wise with the Bardstown and Rare Breed. The new 4R recipes are a nice marketing idea, but in my area $50+ and I am not terribly impressed in the glass. I'd much rather have a SB Select for a couple bucks more. I enjoyed the hunt so much in 2024 and now for some reason I'm feeling depressed about the whole bourbon scene. Oh well maybe it's just the winter blues! Cheers and keep the vids coming.
