I watched half of this video, paused it, googled the address and booked a 5 day holiday in Frome in April on the spot. My daughter and I love indie bookshops and your book selection matches our reading taste perfectly. See you at Easter! We can’t wait!!!

@alexisbenson8982

Shop from local, independent stores everyone! It's so important to keep lovely places like this going and thriving.

@fernandorivera9701

The YouTube algorithm recommended this channel. So happy it did.

@rockislander5857

I don't live in the UK, and it's sadly unlikely that I will ever be able to visit your bookshop in person, however, I've subscribed nonetheless. Why? Because I was drawn in by your calm and welcoming demeanor as well as your obvious passion for sharing knowledge and information with the world through my favorite medium: books. This was an excellent video; not once did I feel tempted to scroll away, and I've added several of your best sellers to my TBR. Well done and congratulations on your first year! I have no doubt you'll be successful for many more.

@marmadukegrimwig

Independent book stores are vital! Well done!!

Don’t know if this is something that you’re interested in, but thought this could be a good idea to help your shop during those stormy days to see if it might attract more visitors is if you had a little station to have free sample of tea or coffee for those willing to visit. The store I work for in the States has sampling of coffee and sometimes tea to allow visiting customers to enjoy while perusing the store, and it’s a nice excuse to treat them when the weather gets blistering. We primarily use paper sample cups, big enough to enjoy but not too big, likely you could use an electric tea kettle to make it easier to heat the water.

Again, it’s not something you have to do but a suggestion to see if it helps your sales or at least attracting visitors during those days the weather is dreary. Funny thing is you’d think it would be the perfect excuse to visit a book shop to gather some reading material to help time go by when the weather is stormy.

I AM SO ENVIOUS OF YOU, LUKE ! YOU ARE LIVING MY DREAM !
I’m sure it is hard work, but to be surrounded by books ALL day, meeting book lovers, authors, publishers, agents, the area your bookshop is in , it sounds like my ultimate dream. 📚🎉
My daughter was at uni near Richmond as well as working and living in Nob Hill, gave birth to her daughter in London and both have their dual citizenship. She resided there for 10 years and we visited bookshops almost weekly…the UK, in my opinion, is the ideal place to have a bookshop ! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉
THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR VIDEO. FANTASTIC!

@MeganLouiseCahill

I visited your bookshop before Christmas with one of my friends and we adored your little shop! So refreshing to have an independent store local to us😊

@annmyhre

This comment from Norway from someone who is not traveling anymore and not going to order from you as I prefer my local bookshop is of no help to you at all - except for your algorithm. I love your street and how you pan it while talking, and of course your enthusiasms for books. Please, the world really needs shops like your's, I do hope you prosper and I'll continue to watch. Thank you!

@BatshevaDueck.

I love that I havent heard of a single one of these books! So refreshing! And I lOVE day to day indie bookseller vlogs! please do more! Just about the day to day, vlogging a day in the shop, preparing for sales or big events, going to bookish areas hehe

@dukesburgs398

Independent bookstores are great because they all have their own identity like yours

@debzeb6899

What a wonderful thing to stumble upon on a warm summer night in New Zealand as I water my apple and pear trees. I can't wait for more. Would love to hear some excerpts of the books and have a tour of the shop. I know it is a book shop but some merch for folks who won't be lucky enough to stop by would be an idea. Book shops are an endangered species and I'd like to support you there in the hedgerows.

@meganmcmahon7883

The thumbnail really stuck out to me as feeling familiar, only for me to realise you’re in my hometown! I live in Bristol now but will definitely be popping in when I’m next back in Frome - good luck with the shop, if anywhere will support you with this, I hope it’s the Fromies!

@tamic193

You really resonate with me with your love of books as well as historical architecture. My dad was a builder and carpenter by trade and took great pride in anything he made. We would go for walks in old historic neighborhoods (California doesn’t have many, but old to us) and would point out all the little details in old Victorian homes. It is some of my fondest memories with him. I went to Rome because of that love for history and architecture which to me is art in itself and to say tears came to my eyes on more than one occasion would be an understatement. I would love to some day visit your part of the world and visit your bookstore to buy some books!

@taika1795

there has been two new independent bookshops that have opened up near me, one not open yet and the other less than a handful of months. This movement back to bookshops is fantastic! Youtube recommend this to me in the recommendation lists. I probably won't visit you store but I am still subscribing, more power to small businesses!

@christinesnowden2669

I don't live in the UK, but I love your collection. Your website gives me access and a way to support your business. I have pre-ordered your book coming out in March and can't wait.

@artdecade9515

I'm an online customer from the US. Hope to visit one day. I have to say, the cover art on the books you offer is on another level. The Renaissance of book cover design is alive in these genres. I can't get enough of them.

@ridendurance

New subscriber from the USA. Excited to see a return of independent book stores.

@empea3837

Your video popped up in my YouTube Recommended. The thumbnail caught my attention right away. Beautiful thumbnail/store 🤩. Liked video right away too. I am coming back to record the titles of your recommended books because you seem very emotionally aware and intelligent. Congratulations on your bookstore. 🎉

@sandradee6029

Hello from Scotland. Your video popped up , I thought I'd give it a listen and now feel like part of your extended family!

I've always had a secret notion to open a book shop but sadly never the funds or courage! My area has lost its local independents in recent years and people are having to go further afield to find a good bookstore.

Love your channel and Froome looks like a beautiful place to visit. I hope to be able to stop in sometime and cheer you on for following your passions!
