The Northern emerald tree boa (Corallus caninus) is a stunningly beautiful species! In the past it was the same species with the Amazon basin emerald tree boa (Corallus batesii). Finding these snakes in the Amazon rainforest is not easy as they spend most of their time hidden in trees and they are greatly camouflaged! Emerald tree boas have very long teeth and they are often quite defensive. However, the large one shown here was very calm.
