【Profile】
SPECTRUM, led by leader Ichiro Nitta, was the first group to introduce to Japan a style of black music with distinctive falsetto vocals and 16 beat rhythms influenced by foreign soul, funk, and brass rock. This one-of-a-kind brass band released six singles and six albums in the two years between their debut in 1979 and their breakup in 1981.
スペクトラムは、リーダー新田一郎が中心となり、海外のソウル、ファンク、ブラスロックなどの影響を受けながら、独特のファルセット(裏声)中心のヴォーカル、16ビートのリズムなど、ブラック・ミュージックのスタイルを日本にいち早く導入したグループ。1979年にデビューしてから、1981年の解散までの2年間で、シングル6枚、アルバム6枚を残した唯一無比のブラス・ロック・バンド。
