The quiet side of Kyoto 🍃🍵

Year after year Kyoto seems to be getting more and more crowded! Although the main areas of Kyoto such as Kiyomizudera and Arashiyama are certainly beautiful, if you want to avoid the crowds but still experience the traditional Kyoto I would recommend these areas:

1. Ine located in Northern Kyoto,is a beautiful seaside fishing town, well known for its funeya’s which are fishing houses located on the water. The town itself is small but one of the most peaceful places I’ve been!

2. #Amanohashidate, another quiet town in Northern Kyoto here you can really enjoy some of Japan most scenic ocean views.

3. #Kibune a small town in a forested valley in the northern mountains, the town is build around Kifune shrine and is the perfect place for a summer escape.🍃

4. Otagi Nenbutsu-ji located in the outskirts of Arashiyama this temple was such a unique treat! The temple is home to 1200 Rakan statues which are all individually carved. When I want last summer there was only a hand full of people in the whole temple so you could really enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

5. Uji Kyoto is still on my bucket list of places to visit. The town is well known of its match and shrines.
