After being left for dead at the bottom of a well by his father King Salvaan’s guards, Pooran is miraculously rescued by Yogi Gorakh Nath, who with his healing powers brings back Pooran to recovered health. He urges Pooran that he has passed all of life’s tests and hardships, and should rightfully go claim his kingdom. However, Pooran denounces the royal life after his painful experiences and insists on becoming a Yogi himself. Feeling that he is misguided, Yogi Gorakh Nath explains to Pooran that the life of a Yogi is difficult and requires immense sacrifice.

ਗੋਰਖ ਨਾਥ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਨੌਂ-ਬਰ-ਨੌਂ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਹ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਸੰਭਾਲ਼ ਤੇਰੀ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।ਪਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਜ ਖੋਹਣਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਤਰੇਈ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਜੋਗੀ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੋਰਖ ਨਾਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੋਗੀਆਂ, ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਠਿਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰ ਕਰਨੈਲ ਪਾਰਸ ਰਾਮੂੰਵਾਲੀਆ ਨੇ ਇੰਜ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
