So excited to share our first walk way back in 2021!!! starting from the busy Varvankios Central Market all the down the iconic Monastiraki Square at the base of the Acropolis.

Make no mistake, everyone in Athens shops at the Varvankios Central Market, from celebrity chefs to neighbourhood grocery store owners. Named after one of Greece's national heroes, take in wall the walking sounds and sights and see all the things to do before we continue down the main street to Monastiraki Square.

The lively Monastiraki square is known for iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos, with a museum exhibiting Athenian artifacts. Monastiraki Flea Market is a jumble of shops selling artisanal soaps, handmade sandals and souvenir T-shirts.
