#75 Wood turning, Ebonising and Gold Gilted a Sapele Bowl

In this week's woodturning project video, I go a little back in time for me and use a technique I've not applied to a piece for quite some time - the colouring technique known as Ebonising (ebonizing).

I turn a Japanese inspired arty sapele wood bowl with a tiny foot to make the bowl appear to be balancing on a table.

Rubbing the ebonised outside, I then rub in gold gilt to highlight the grain, and do the same on the inside.
